Patience!

This week in Bible we are learning about Patience! I am forever saying to my children, especially Keeghan and Kennedy, "Patience grasshopper!" (Not sure where that came from, but I've been saying it for years! LOL) When my kids want something, they want it now! (But don't we all?!)

Patience means waiting quietly and not whining.
Opposite: Impatient, not waiting.

Bible verse for the week: Ephesians 4:2 Be patient bearing with one another in love.

Each day we will go over our memory verse. Then we will talk about what patience means, how we can show patience to others by taking turns and waiting our turn. We will play games that require taking turns and waiting nicely.

We will read the story in Genesis of Sarah and Abraham and how they waited for so long for God to give them a baby that they wanted so badly and we will sing one of my favorite Be Patient songs from when I was a kid... it goes like this:

"Be patient
Be patient
Don't be in such a hurry
When you get impatient
You only start to worry
Remember, remember
That God is patient too
So think of all the times that others
Have to wait on YOU!"

Check back next week for our next character trait! :)

I can help you with the "grasshopper" part, at least one instance. It was said often by David Carradine's character on the original Kung Fu series from the 70's. I may have a husband who loves that show LOL.

Patience is one I need to work on!!
